Nicholas Patrick James Walshe, born 1 November 1974 in Chiswick (London), is a former rugby union player and coach. He was twice capped for England and was the Head Coach for the England Under 20, leading them to consecutive victories at the IRB Junior World Championships 2013 and 2014.
Walshe began working at the RFU Elite Rugby Department in 2011 as an Assistant Coach to Rob Hunter, England’s Under-20’s Squad.
From June 2014 to May 2016 he held the position of backs and attack coach at Gloucester Rugby.
In 2014 Walshe and his team successfully defended their championship title, in Auckland, New Zealand.
Walshe started coaching in 2007 at Old Sulians in Bath, where he laid the foundations for the club’s promotion to the Somerset Premier. Walshe was promoted to the position of player/backs coach at Bedford Blues at the start of 2008.

Clive Woodward first called Walshe up to the senior England squad for the 2000 England rugby union trip of South Africa. He was a regular fixture on the England A Team for many years before he won his two full caps in the replacement match for Clive Woodward’s 2006 tour to Australia.

In 2013 he moved to Head Coach and became leader of the team that for the first time ever secured England as the IRB Junior World Champions for 2013.
