Mike Blair is one of the most popular and richest Rugby Union Player who was born on April 20, 1981 in Edinburgh, Scotland, United Kingdom. Michael Robert Leighton Blair, a Scottish rugby union coach and former professional player was born in Edinburgh on 20 April 1981. He is currently the assistant coach for both the Glasgow Warriors and Scottish National teams. He was a scrum-half for the Glasgow Warriors, Newcastle Falcons and CA Brive, as well as Edinburgh Rugby. He was a member of the Scotland national team 85 times. In 2009, he also toured with the British Lions. He was 35 when he retired from playing in April 2016. He is currently an assistant coach for the Glasgow Warriors and an assistant coaching coach for the Scottish national team. He was the first Scottish player to win the IRB World Player Award.

He is the older brother of Peter and has two younger brothers, Alex and David. David was a fly half for Sale Sharks between 2007-2011, and Alex played for Edinburgh Rugby between 2010-2011.

Blair spent most of his club career at Edinburgh, and was named in the Pro12 Dream team at the end of the 2007/08 season.

Blair made his 50th appearance against Argentina in 2008 (2nd test).

Blair was the Edinburgh Player of 2008 and 2006, Scotland Pro Team Player and Player of 2008, and Scotland Player and Player of 2008. Blair was the first Scot to receive this award, and was nominated as the IRB Player of the year in 2008. He was included in The Independent’s list of 50 top rugby players worldwide that year.
