Brink left school to go to Port Elizabeth to study at the Eastern Province Kings Academy. Brink was part of the Eastern Province U19 team that competed in Group A at the 2015 Under-19 Provincial Championship. He played a variety of roles during the season, including fly-half, fullback, and inside centre. He was also the main kicker for team, scoring 115 points, which is second only to Tiaan Swanepoel from Western Province. Brink was present in ten matches of the regular season. He scored one try in a 27-7 win over Sharks U19 to help them reach eleven wins and qualify for the home semi-final. In a 31-15 win over Free State U19, he scored 16 points. His boot was also crucial in the final as he kicked two penalties (and four penalties) and helped Eastern Province win the Under-19 Provincial Championship.

At the end of 2015, Eastern Province Kings had serious financial difficulties. Brink was one of the many youngsters promoted to the team that participated in the Currie Cup qualification series 2016. In their 14-37 loss to the SWD Eagles’ first match, Brink was in the starting line-up. Brink was born in Pretoria but grew up to represent the Border Bulldogs at youth competitions. He was their representative at the Under-16 Grant Khomo Week in Johannesburg in 2012.
