Amadio was recalled to the Kings by the Reign on October 26, 2017, after he had started the 2017-18 season. Amadio made his NHL debut on that night, scoring in a 4-0 win over the Montreal Canadiens. Amadio scored his first NHL goal in his fourth game. He did so in a 5-3 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Amadio set a franchise record with 50 goals during the 2015-16 season and was nominated to the Red Tilson Trophy as well as the William Hanley Trophy. Amadio was awarded the William Hanley Trophy and later was selected for the OHL Second All-Star Team.

Amadio was a prolific goal scorer in Northern Ontario’s bantam, and midget levels before he was selected 36th in the 2012 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection. Through their move to North Bay, he played two seasons for the Battalion before being selected by the Los Angeles Kings with the last pick of the fourth-round of 2014 NHL Entry Draft.

Amadio signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Kings on March 13, 2016. After the 2015-16 season, Amadio was reassigned to the Ontario Reign AHL affiliate for their playoff run. He scored 1 goal and contributed 5 points in 11 playoff games.
