Matty Stevens is one of the most popular and richest English footballer who was born on February 12, 1998 in Surrey, United Kingdom. Mathew Antony “Matty” Stevens, born 12 February 1998, is an English footballer. He was also a former amateur boxer. He is a forward for Forest Green Rovers.

Stevens signed a three year contract with Peterborough United on July 1, 2016.

He was transfer-listed by Peterborough United at the end of the 2018–19 season.

Stevens joined Forest Green Rovers on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee in July 2019. He scored his first goals for Forest Green when he scored twice in an EFL Trophy tie against Southampton U21 on 3 September 2019.

Stevens scored six goals for the Bees during 2015-16 preseason. He made his Football League debut on August 8, 2015, when he was an 87-minute substitute for Michael Gash in Leyton Orient’s match against Leyton. After turning down two offers from the club, Stevens was transferred to Barnet in January 2016. Stevens was born to a boxing family. His grandfather, Les Stevens, was a professional boxer who defeated John Conteh in 1974. Stevens, who fought at Pinewood Starr ABC, Crowthorne, and once sparred against Tim Witherspoon during his short career as a youth boxer, won four national titles. He won the ABAE Schools title in 2011 and the GB Schoolboy 3 Nations championship in 2012. Stevens was undefeated throughout his boxing career.

Stevens gave up boxing at the age of 15, but he was still a fighter and was part the youth teams at Aldershot Town Farnborough and Reading. He scored 32 goals at the U-16 level in the 2013-14 season. Stevens joined Barnet on a two year scholarship in the summer 2014. His impressive goal scoring record for the youth team saw him make his senior debut on 6 September 2014. He replaced Sam Togwell in the 82 minute mark and became Barnet’s youngest player at 16 years old. This record was previously held by Mauro Villhete, which Dwight Pascal lost in 2016. His first goal in senior for the Bees was against Concord Rangers in the FA Trophy on 16 December 2014. He scored a Panenka penalty and became Barnet’s youngest ever goal scorer. Stevens scored 57 goals across all competitions in the 2014-15 season, which attracted interest from bigger clubs like Swansea City (who had rejected a PS250k offer in May 2015). Crystal Palace also submitted a bid, with Manchester United and Manchester City sending scouts.

Stevens joined Cambridge City on loan in December 2016, before joining Sligo Rovers on loan on 14 January 2017. He scored three goals in twelve appearances for Sligo. Stevens joined Kettering Town on loan in August 2017 until the rest of the season, and finished as top scorer with 25 league goals. Stevens also finished as top scorer for Posh in 2018-19 pre-season before joinining Slough Town on loan on 31 August 2018 until the New Year, but was recalled in early December.
