Dave Kemp is one of the most popular and richest English footballer who was born on February 20, 1953 in Harrow, United Kingdom. David Michael Kemp (born 20 February 1953) is a English former professional player and manager. He is the an assistant director at Middlesbrough FC.
He was appointed manager in the summer of 1992. was appointed as Slough Town’s manager. Conference club Slough Town. He led Slough to fifth in the Conference the highest finish they have ever had and then resigned at close of his first campaign to be appointed an assistant manager for Crystal Palace under new manager Alan Smith where they won the 1993-94 League Championship (and with it promotion to the Premier League), and made it to the semi-finals in the League Cup and FA Cup during the 1994-95 season.
He then became assistant manager under John Docherty at Millwall and was later first-team coach at Wimbledon under Joe Kinnear until the summer of 1999 when he returned to Millwall as first-team coach. In December 1999, Kemp was appointed first-team coach at Portsmouth under new manager Tony Pulis.
In October 2000, he was appointed as manager of Oxford United, with Joe Kinnear as Director of Football. Kinnear left to manage Luton Town in February 2001 and Kemp was dismissed two months later following relegation and protests by the Oxford fans. In December 2001, he was appointed as Chief Scout for Leicester City. Later that month he was named as one of the best 101 players to have played for Plymouth Argyle before joining Stoke City as first-team coach in August 2004, again working under Tony Pulis. Kemp left Stoke in June 2005 when Pulis was dismissed.
He later played for the team and later was assistant manager for, Swedish side Hagahojdens BK, Norrkoping (22 matches, 14 goals). The team returned back to England in 1986, and joined the coaching team at Wimbledon. He was the first team coach at the time that Wimbledon took home the FA Cup in 1988. He was later appointed manager of Plymouth Argyle in March 1990.

Kemp started his career at Harrow Borough, subsequently playing for Maidenhead United and Slough Town before joining Crystal Palace in April 1975. He was transferred to Portsmouth in November of 1976 and was their most prolific goal scorer in both the 1977-78 and 1976-77 seasons, even though he did not play all season long for the club. A very well-known player at the club , he made an appearance as a cover star in Roy in the Rovers magazine with his fictional goal-scoring rival.
He was transferred to Carlisle United in March 1978 and then moved towards Plymouth Argyle in September 1979 for a record-setting club cost of $75,000. He was on loan to Gillingham (December 1981) and Brentford (March 1982) prior to joining NASL team Edmonton Drillers in June 1982. He played in 1983’s NASL campaign with Seattle Sounders and also played for San Jose Earthquakes before leaving the NASL in 1984 to join an appearance in the Oklahoma City Stampede of the brief-lived United Soccer League (he accrued the second-highest number of points within the competition).
He was appointed as assistant manager of Wycombe Wanderers, again under Smith, at the start of the 1995–96 season, leaving along with Smith after a poor start to the 1996–97 season.
