Mowers (born on the 16th of February, 1974) is an ex-professional hockey player and currently a professional scout for the Minnesota Wild. He previously played in the National Hockey League with the Nashville Predators, Detroit Red Wings, Boston Bruins, and the Anaheim Ducks.
In the 2004 NHL Lockout, Mowers played with the Malmo Redhawks of the SEL and the Swiss squad Fribourg-Gotteron. Mowers came back to the Red Wings for the 2005-06 season and was utilized in reserve position participating in 46 of the games.
Prior to the 2007–08 season, on September 24, 2007, Mowers was traded by the Bruins to the Anaheim Ducks for Brett Skinner and Nathan Saunders. Mark played in 17 games with the Ducks and accepted a loan to SC Bern of the NLA for the remainder of the season on November 30.
Mowers returned to his former Swiss team, Fribourg-Gottéron, for the 2008–09 season and played three more professional seasons in the NLA before ending his playing career after the 2010–11 season.
On the 6th of August, 2002 Mowers was signed on his contract for the Detroit Red Wings. Mowers got assigned to the Grand Rapids Griffins for the 2002-03 season. He scored 81 points over 78 games, which earned him an appearance in the AHL All-Star Second Team. In the 2003-04 season, Mowers started the year with the Griffins prior to being recalled to the Red Wings on November 19 the 19th of November, 2003. Mowers excelled in a checking line role and was able to establish his place as a regular player in the team. Mowers was injured on his foot at the close of the season. He was out of the playoffs.

Mowers was a part of the team that made his NHL debut during the 1998-99 season, which was his first season as a professional, playing for the Predators.
