It was rumored that Marcus and his brother would end their careers at the end of the 2011-12 season. Marcus was still part of the SCN squad for season 2012/2013, and was regularly a fixture in the Bundesliga. He resigned during the 2013/2014 preseason after he lost the championship final.
He won two German championships in 2003 and 2004, with his club team, and lost in the 2001 finals to DRC Hannover.

Marcus Trick was born in Rottweil. He started playing rugby at the age of 17 in 1994 when he joined the local club RC Rottweil. He and his younger brother Armon Trick signed a contract with SC Neuenheim in 1999. He played for SC Neuenheim every year except 2004 when he was assigned to the Spanish club RC L’Hospitalet.
In 2000, he was awarded his first cap for Germany against the Ukraine. He has played for Germany 20 times since. He was promoted to Division 1 at the 2008 European Nations Cup. This was his greatest achievement as a national team player. In 2010, he was finally capped against Romania for Germany.
