In April 2019, Sneyd signed a new three-year contract until the end of the 2022 season.
Sneyd was on loan to Castleford Tigers for the 2014 season. Daryl Powell, Castleford’s coach, described Sneyd as “…a player with the added advantage of an exceptional left-foot kicking skill.” This was Sneyd’s breakthrough season. He scored 7 tries and kicked over 117 goals in just 31 games. He also appeared in the Challenge Cup Final defeat at Wembley Stadium by the Leeds Rhinos in 2014.

He was a junior player at Salford Red Devils. Although he made his Salford debut in 2010, his playing time was very limited. He signed a two-year contract extension with Salford in May 2013. In October 2013, he was selected in the Ireland squad for Rugby League World Cup 2013.
Salford turned down a transfer request for Sneyd in June 2014. However, Sneyd signed a three year contract with Hull F.C. Lee Radford, Hull’s coach, said that Sneyd has an excellent left-foot kicking game as well as a great touch on the ball. We believe this will allow him to develop into a young half-back in Britain.
In February 2017, he extended his contract with Hull until 2019. He won the 2017 Challenge Cup with Hull in an 18-14 victory over the record holders Wigan Warriors, and once again he was named the Lance Todd Trophy winner becoming only the second player to win the award two years in a row.
