Lowes Lee Moore was born May 5, 1957 and is an ex-player of the American National Basketball Association (NBA). Moore was a two-time champion of the Continental Basketball Association (CBA), for the Albany Patroons, under coaches Phil Jackson & George Karl. His 40-point performance against Notre Dame is his most recognizable accomplishment.

Moore was a leader in the Mt. Vernon Community for many decades. He started bringing male mentors into his school district and instigating the 100 Positive Men program. He also found the Nepperhan Community Center, Yonkers, through his work with young men. His passion led him to the Peacekeepers of Mt. Vernon, which was established in May 2010. Elder Moore is a leader of the organization and can be seen marching, organizing, and working with the young men of Mt. Vernon.

1986. He is now an ordained Elder at Emmanuel Pentecostal Faith Temple, where he is under the direction of Bishop Leon Dixon. Since childhood, Moore has aspired to inspire young people and help them succeed in all areas of their lives. In the 1980s, he founded the Hoop School in Albany, NY. There, he and other professional athletes gave motivational speeches and workshops to adolescents, parents, coaches, and their families. This program is now called Gospel Sports Today (Men N Charge).

Lowes graduated Mount Vernon High School, 1976, and West Virginia University, 1980. He was drafted by New Jersey Nets after he received All-American Honorable Mention in basketball in his sophomore and third years, and All- American Honors his senior year. He was a three-year NBA player with the Nets (Los Angeles Clippers), Cleveland Cavaliers, and Nets. He was also a member of the Continental Basketball Association for five years, playing on two championship teams with his team the Albany Patroons. He was coached both by Phil Jackson and Bill Musselman. He has coached basketball at the college, professional and high school levels.

Moore was selected by the New Jersey Nets during the 1980 NBA draft. He played three seasons with three teams: the Nets, San Diego Clippers, and the Cleveland Cavaliers. Moore is the current Executive Director at the Boys & Girls Club Mount Vernon, New York.
