Kevin Dotson (born March 4, 1973), better known by his stage name Linus of Hollywood, is an American singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and record producer. His early days in Los Angeles saw him wearing striped shirts that were similar to Linus van Pelt’s Peanuts character. He is currently a member Nerf Herder as well as comedy duo Jarinus.
He formed Palmdale in 2010 with Kay Hanley, a former Letters to Cleo singer/songwriter. They released two EPs: Get Wasted and How to Be Mean.
Dotson was a bass guitarist for Paul Gilbert during the 2000s. He played on the Acoustic Samurai tour ((2003)), the Burning Organ tour ((2002)) and the Space Ship One tour ((2005)). On both of his tours, he was also the bass player for Roger Joseph Manning, Jr.

Dotson was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska. He spent his childhood years in Florida. He learned to play the guitar at age five. Later, he would learn to play the piano, drums, and bass. He moved to Los Angeles at the age of 21 to pursue a career as a musician. Dotson began his professional career in 1995 as the leader and frontman of Size 14, a punk/pop group named after his shoe size. Dotson started producing and playing on recordings of other musicians after the band disbanded in 1998.
Dotson’s first solo album, Your Favorite Record, was released on his label Franklin Castle Recordings in 1999. The album featured almost all of his vocal and instrumental performances. Since then, he has released four additional albums: Triangle (2006), Let Yourself be Happy (2006), Attractive Singles (2008) and Reheat & Server (2008). In 2011, he released “A Girl That You Like”, a new single.
Dotson released his fourth solo album in 2014 titled Something Good.
