Amar Singh is one of the most popular and richest Former Member Of Rajya Sabha who was born on January 27, 1956 in Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh, India. Amar Singh (born 27 January 1956) is an Indian politician from the state of Uttar Pradesh who was one of the chiefs of the Samajwadi Party. The general secretary was a member of Samajwadi Party and was a member of the Rajya Sabha, the upper chamber of the Indian parliament. On January 6, 2010 he resigned all posts in the Samajwadi Party and was later exiled from the party its leader, Mulayam Singh Yadav, on February 2, 2010. He was briefly in judicial detention in the year the year 2011. He eventually resigned from politics. In his post, he stated, “I want to give more time to my wife and my family. Therefore after the last day of polling (on May 13), I will retire from politics.” In 2016 the election, he was elected as a member of Rajya Sabha with support from Samajwadi Party even after facing the ire of certain sections of the party that included the Chief Minister at the time from Uttar Pradesh Akhilesh Yadav. He was reinstated as one of General Secretaries for the Samajwadi Party in the month of October of 2016.
Amar Singh has been chargesheeted for bribes he offered to three members from the Bharatiya Janata Party in 2008 under the Prevention of Corruption Act by the Delhi Police on 24 August 2011. Amar Singh has pleaded health reasons for not appearing before the courts in which the chargesheet was pending. However, in the wake of negative media reports and negative media reports, the Mr. Singh has appeared before the courts to counter the notion that he’s absconding from the process of law. After hearing his pleas for personal reasons in court, the Court has sentenced Amar Singh to judicial custody. Amar Singh to judicial detention until 19 September 2011 in the Delhi’s Tihar jail. The money trail involved in this case was not traced back to the account of Mr. Amar Singh in accordance with the Supreme Court order and nor specific evidence was discovered against him.

However his party did not win a single seat in these election. He joined the Rashtriya Lok Dal party in March 2014, contested the general elections that year from Fatehpur Sikri, Uttar Pradesh in 2014 Indian general election and lost.
