Liam Davies, a Welsh rugby union footballer, was born 10 May 1986. As a scrum-half, Davies started his professional rugby career at the Llanelli Scarlets. He made his league debut with the Scarlets on 14 September 2005, while still playing in the region’s development team. In the 2005-06 season, he made nine more appearances and scored a try against the Glasgow Warriors on 16/10 2005. Davies was promoted to Scarlets’ first squad in March 2006. He also signed a professional development agreement.
Davies signed a three year contract with Ospreys on 21 June 2009.
Davies was released by the Scarlets at the end of the 2011–12 season and in September 2012 joined Newport Gwent Dragons. In January 2013, Davies joined Cardiff Blues making him the second player to play for all four Welsh regions after Tal Selley.
On 5 January 2012, he signed back for the Scarlets as cover because the Scarlets scrum-half Tavis Knoyle injured his shoulder and would be out for at least three months.
Davies signed a two-year contract with Brive in June 2008. On 6 September 2008, he made his debut in a draw of 16-16 with Castres.

The Scarlets’ third-choice scrum half, Davies, started the 2006-07 season. He was behind Dwayne Pear and Clive Stuart Smith. Davies had to wait until December before he made his first appearance. He made nine more appearances in that season and scored one try.
Dwayne Pear was away for the 2007 Rugby World Cup so Davies began the 2007-08 season with Gavin Cattle at the top in the Scarlets’ scrum half pecking order. They shared the number 9 shirt during the first three months, prior to Peel’s return. But they quickly got back in action when Peel joined the Wales squad for 2008 Six Nations.
In January 2010, Davies joined London Welsh on loan. He was released by the Ospreys at the end of the 2009–10 season and joined French club Dax.
