Levani Botia is one of the most popular and richest Rugby Union Player who was born on March 14, 1989 in Naitasiri Province, Central Division, Fiji, Fiji. Levani Botia, a Fijian rugby league footballer, was born 14 March 1989 in Naitasiri. Nicknamed “Demolition Man”, he plays as a centre, flanker, and wing for La Rochelle, and his national team, Fiji.

He joined the Pro D2 rugby team, La Rochelle, in February 2014.

In June 2015, he was included in the Fiji team to play in the 2015 World Rugby Pacific Nations Cup. He set up one of the tries of the year when he regathered a kick and set off on one of his trademark runs and then bumped off 2 Tongan players to set up a try for Henry Seniloli.

He made his international debut for Fiji’s 15’s team against Portugal in the 2013 end of-year rugby union nationals. He also scored a try during debut. A week later, he played against the Barbarians again for Fiji in a centennial match to mark 100 years of Fijian rugby.

He didn’t go to high school, as he quit school after completing class 8. After a few years, he moved to Suva where he played for the Suva Development side and then for City Eagles. Waisale Selvi, a former Fiji 7’s coach who is also a legend, saw him and included him in the team for the 2011 Pacific Games. He was included in sevens team for 2012-13 IRB Sevens World Series. However, an injury kept him out of most of the season. However, he was part the Fiji team to Rugby World Cup Sevens 2013. Botia played in the Digicel Cup in Namosi, his province. He even made it to the semi-finals in 2013. In a few tournaments, he even captained the national 7’s team.

Botia was a prison officer and it was during this time that he had the opportunity to play in a local competition for Warden’s 7. He didn’t tell his wife that he had played professional rugby until she saw him on TV at the 2011 Pacific Games.

He was included in the final 31-member squad to the 2015 Rugby World Cup.
