At the start of 2015, Forwood played Varsity Cup rugby, making three appearances for a team that finished top of the log before losing to NWU Pukke in the semi-final, Forwood’s only start for Tuks. He also joined the Blue Bulls’ squad for the 2015 Vodacom Cup and he made his first class debut in May 2015, starting in an 83–13 victory over their affiliated sub-union, the Limpopo Blue Bulls.
In August 2016, Forwood was contracted by the cash-strapped Eastern Province Kings for the 2016 Currie Cup Premier Division. He made his debut in the Premier Division of the Currie Cup by coming on as a replacement in their first match of the season, a 10–28 defeat to Boland Cavaliers. He was promoted to the starting lineup for their next match against former side the Blue Bulls in his hometown of Pretoria. He started four of their remaining six matches in a season that saw the EP Kings fail to win any of their matches to finish bottom of the log.
Forwood was born in Pretoria. Forwood played and attended his first rugby team for Hoerskool Waterkloof, and was also selected for as a member of the Pretoria-based Blue Bulls union at the top South African high schools rugby union tournament, the Under-18 Craven Week. He played twice He made one appearance at the tournament in 2010 in Welkom and another at the 2011 event in Kimberley.

After graduating from high the school year, Forwood began his journey with his first team at the Blue Bulls academy, and established himself as a major participant for Blue Bulls U19. Blue Bulls U19 team in the 2012 Provincial Championship for Under-19s He made eight starts and made one appearance as a substitute during the round-robin phase of the tournament and scored four tries – one in the 90-0 victory against SWD U19, and one each against Leopards U19 as well as the Sharks U19 – in helping to see the Blue Bulls finish second on the list to be in the play-offs for the title. The Blue Bulls’ semi-final was a rematch against the Sharks and scored two tries in their 46-35 victory, and then in the final was played against Western Province U19, where the team came up short, falling short by losing the match 18-22. Forwood’s six attempts in the tournament led him to be the Blue Bulls’ top try scorer.
He was included as a member of the Blue Bulls squad for the 2013 Vodacom Cup, but didn’t appear during the tournament. In the latter part of 2013, he was a part of in the Blue Bulls U21 side in the 2013 Provincial Championship for Under-21s The first five games were all off the bench. However, he was a starter in their final four games of the regular season and scored one goal in the opening of the matches with Border U21. Forwood’s Blue Bulls finished second on the league table to make the title play-offs. Forwood began their semi-final victory against the Sharks U21s and then the final game, where the team fell short of winning, falling the game 23-30 against Western Province U21.
He made eight appearances during the UP Tuks’ 2015 Varsity Cup season, helping the side reach the semi-finals for the second consecutive season before losing to Maties in the semi-final. He made his second senior appearance during the 2016 Currie Cup qualification competition, coming on as a replacement in a 95–12 victory over Namibian side Welwitschias in Pretoria.
