For the season 2007/08, Matt Banahan grabbed many media attention, but Maddock was once more reliable at being available to play in six of 18 games, and 2 during Bath’s run towards victory at the European Challenge Cup.

In May 2010, Maddock announced that he will be leaving Bath at the end of the 2009/10 season and signed for Benetton Treviso.

His professional debut was with the province of Canterbury in 2001 when he scored two try against Buller in an Ranfurly Shield game. Over the course of two seasons in Canterbury Maddock ran in 27 attempts in his 30 games. Maddock celebrated the occasion of his Crusaders first appearance in the 2002 season by scoring a try with the Highlanders. He added two more attempts in his debut season with the Crusaders when they took home the Super 12 title undefeated.
