Jerry Narron is one of the most popular and richest Baseball Player who was born on January 15, 1956 in Goldsboro, North Carolina, United States. Jerry Austin Narron (born January 15th 1956) is an American professional baseball coach, manager, as well as a former athlete. Narron is the current coach on the bench for the Boston Red Sox of Major League Baseball (MLB). Narron was a player in MLB mostly as a catcher, in three teams between 1979 and 1987. He was manager of The Texas Rangers (2001-2002) and the Cincinnati Reds (2005-2007). Third base was his responsibility for Israel during in the 2016 World Baseball Classic.
He made his MLB debut on April 13th, 1979. Narron was a player with the Yankees as a back-up catcher for Thurman Munson, who was killed in the crash of a plane in the month of August 1979. Narron was the Yankees’ catcher of the day on the day of the death of Munson and was in the dugout for the ceremony prior to the game and left the catcher’s spot vacant, as a mark in respect to Munson.
He was released by the Mariners in March 1982, and signed two days later as a free agent by the California Angels, for whom he played. Playing for the Spokane Indians in the AAA Pacific Coast League (PCL) in 1982, he batted .311 in 408 at bats. In 1983, playing for the Edmonton Trappers of the PCL, he batted .301 with 27 home runs (4th in the league) and 102 RBIs (6th in the league) in 539 at bats, while leading the league with 15 intentional walks. He was released by the Angels in April 1987, and signed later that month by the Seattle Mariners, who in turn released him the following November. He retired as a player in 1989.
Narron was a manager in the Baltimore Orioles farm system from 1989 through 1992; of the Class A Frederick Keys (1989), AA Hagerstown Suns (1990-91), and AAA Rochester Red Wings (1992), with a record of 291-269 (.520). He was then hired as a coach for the Orioles by skipper Johnny Oates. After two seasons in Baltimore, he moved with Oates to the Texas Rangers.
In November 1979, Narron was sold by the Yankees in November 1979 to the Seattle Mariners with Juan Beniquez, Rick Anderson, and Jim Beattie for Jim Lewis and Ruppert Jones.

He was picked from high school New York Yankees in the sixth round of the 1974 Major League Baseball Draft. He played with his brother Johnny with the Johnson City Cardinals in the Rookie Appalachian League during his debut career season as a professional in the year 1974. He hit .301. In 1977, when he was playing with the West Haven Yankees of the AA Eastern League, he hit .299 (8th highest of the league) and hit 28 homers (2nd for the entire league) with an RBI of 93 (3rd among league players) in 438 bats.
