Karl Wallinger is one of the most popular and richest Record Producer who was born on October 19, 1957 in Prestatyn, Wales, United Kingdom. Karl Edmond De Vere Wallinger (born 19 October 1957 in Prestatyn, Wales) is a Welsh musician who is also a songwriter, producer and musician. He is most well-known for the group World Party and for his early 1980s time with The Waterboys. He also wrote and released the track “She’s the One”, which was later recorded by Robbie Williams and became a popular single.

When he was working on her solo music, Wallinger also worked on Sinead O’Connor’s debut album in 1987, The Lion and the Cobra. O’Connor did the same by singing background vocals for the first two World Party albums.

1997 saw two tracks by Wallinger included on a compilation album entitled Now And in Time To Be, a musical celebration of the works of famed Irish poet, W. B. Yeats. The poem “Politics” is credited as having been interpreted by Wallinger, while World Party is acknowledged as a contributing artist for “The Four Ages of Man”.

In an interview with Chicago Tribune freelancer Jay Hedblade, Wallinger revealed that he suffered a brain aneurysm in February 2001. After several months of writing for the band, he felt unwell, and asked his friends to call an ambulance. He was taken to the hospital and was diagnosed with a brain aneurysm. This led him to require surgery wherein the surgeons had to block a nerve near the optic nerve. Despite what would appear a full recovery, he lost his peripheral vision on the left side of both eyes. Although the aneurysm meant that he had to suspend all work for nearly five years, he eventually resumed touring in 2006.

Wallinger’s first album released with his World Party label, Private Revolution (1986) was a blend of funk, folk and soul. The title was a reference to its origins by Wallinger working on his own in a studio at home. The track became a huge hit with the song “Ship of Fools”. Numerous musical collaborators from previous projects played on the album and included Waterboys the saxophonist, Anthony Thistlethwaite, Sinead O’Connor (singing the backing vocals for “Hawaiian Island World”) and the mysterious Delahaye.

Karl Wallinger is one of the richest Record Producer from United Kingdom. According to our analysis, Wikipedia, Forbes & Business Insider, Karl Wallinger 's net worth $5 Million. (Last Update: December 11, 2023)

Wallinger’s career in music began at Prestatyn in 1977, as an instrument player in Pax and then he formed the group Quasimodo along with Dave Sharp and Nigel Twist (who also went on to form The Alarm). Wallinger then took on a short job in publishing music and then he was appointed director of music for The Rocky Horror Show.

Wallinger was brought in to Mike Scott’s group The Waterboys as a keyboard player in 1983. He began by performing on the album’s first tour and contributing to two subsequent albums (A Pagan Space and This Is the Sea) in addition to playing in subsequent live concerts. The first time he was hired, he played organ and piano (and to occasionally sing backing vocals) Wallinger’s multi-instrumental and production abilities were a big hit with Mike Scott and ensured that Wallinger had a larger part for This Is the Sea than that he did on earlier albums, greatly making a difference to the band’s Big Music sound. While Scott focused on Steve Reich-inspired orchestrations of the songs with multitracked guitars and pianos, Wallinger fleshed out the music using a variety of synth bass, synthesised orchestrations and the percussion instruments. Wallinger also composed the original composition for ‘Don’t Blow the Drum’ (the opening track for This Is the Sea). Beware that his own music-related ambitions could bring Wallinger into contention against Scott, Wallinger opted to quit The Waterboys in late-1985 towards the conclusion of their ‘This is the Sea concert tour (he became a a keyboardist by Guy Chambers, his future collaborator).

Wallinger was musical director for the 1994 film, Reality Bites, and contributed to the soundtrack of Clueless in 1995. The Wallinger-penned “She’s the One” (originally a World Party song) has been successfully covered by Robbie Williams. Wallinger has also acted as a member of Bob Geldof’s backing band.
