Jamie was born James Andrew Mallender, February 2, 1972 to a musical family that played many instruments. Early influences include Queen, The Beatles and Adam and the Ants. He also grew up listening to Michael Jackson and The Carpenters. Jamie was 14 when he saw Queen perform live at the concert known as “Wembley86”. This was the turning point. “That was when I realized what I wanted to do. It was a must to be in a band. That was the turning point in my life. Football was dead, and rock music was hot. I began saving money to purchase an instrument. It didn’t matter what instrument I had, I would have played any instrument! Jamie started with a Hondo Paul copy. He wired it into his stereo to learn songs by Van Halen and Motley Crue. Jamie changed schools at 16 and made new friends. He also met some budding musicians with whom he formed his band. Jamie was recruited to join the band as a rhythm player and singer. The band performed songs by Yngwie, Dio and Black Sabbath, as well as Ozzy Osbourne. They also recorded a 3-track tape and wrote several songs. After their first gig, Aviator was formed. Jamie got his first taste of bass guitar during rehearsals with Aviator. Jamie switched to the bass guitar after the bass player was unable to make it to rehearsal. However, his equipment was available so he could continue playing. Jamie is an accomplished guitarist who can play many instruments. However, he is most well-known for his bass guitar. Jamie was a bass guitarist in many different bands. Faith of Merchants was a well-known band, and they were very popular in their hometown of Chesterfield and Sheffield. Jamie left Faith of Merchants in the wake of grunge and went on to play at working men’s clubs, cabaret venues and parties across the UK with any hirer. Jamie was a local musician who had a job and played in cover bands to make extra money for 10 years. His professionalism and dedication shined through and he was invited to join Bailey’s Comet in 2002. Bailey’s Comet was anchored by Dez Bailey, one of the Bailey Brothers. They were both former presenters on Headbangers Ball (MTV), and also successful rock journalists and radio hosts. Tony Martin, a former Black Sabbath singer, was also in the band. Fasker Johnson was replaced by Jamie Mallender.
Jamie met John Verity in 2011, the former singer for Argent, through Fret King guitars. They are both endorsees. John actually has his own signature model. Jamie joined John’s team in 2013 and began playing select shows. Later, Jamie became John’s main player and performed on the Blue To My Soul and My Religion albums.
The Tony Martin Band was founded in 2005 and played many gigs. They also did short tours in Europe and the Eastern Bloc. Russia was a particular success story. The band’s initial success was marred by MTM Records’ collapse, which left them without any record company support and no more copies of “Scream”. However, the band continued to perform live. They changed the focus from Scream to Black Sabbath material. Martin replaced Fabio Cerrone in November 2006 with Empire’s Rolf Munkes as lead guitarist. This line-up continued to perform live until Joe Harford left for a new career. Rolf took over guitar duties. Tony Martin announced in 2012 that he would only perform 1 gig with a new line-up. Rolf Munkes and Jamie Mallender were replaced by Magnus Rosen, Dario Mollo and Rolf Munkes.

Jamie Mallender, born 2 February 1972 in London, is a British musician who plays the bass guitar for John Verity. He was also the bass player for Raven Lord Band and Tony Martin Band.
Bailey’s Comet toured Britain in 2002. They headlined a Belgian rock festival and performed at The Gods Festival in Bradford. Hardline, Honeymoon Suite and Eric Martin were also present. Jamie and Danny Needham joined the Tony Martin Band 2 years later to support Tony’s 2005 album “Scream” on MTM Records.
Jamie joined Raven Lord in August 2011. He performs on the debut album Descent to the Underworld. On 15 April 2013, Jamie made a VLOG to make it clear to fans that he had decided to leave the band purely for creative reasons and that there was no bad feeling towards the band. He also announced plans to record new solo material and form new musical alliances. On 18 April 2013 it was announced that Jamie Mallender was replaced by Craig Gruber for the bassist’s position.
