Based in London Sosimi works as an instructor and educator of Afrobeat (via the Dele Sosimi Afrobeat Foundation, and also as a Visiting Lecturer in the School of Music and Media, London Metropolitan University). He plays in one of three formatsthat are equally engaging and as fun like the others: the 15-piece Afrobeat Orchestra (featuring an horn section of five members and dancers) and the 6- to 9-piece band (the most commonly used form) or an ensemble or trio (with drums, bass, and percussion).

His shows comprise performances at Montreux Jazz Festival, Joe Zawinul’s Birdland (Vienna) the Treibhaus (Innsbruck ), Paradiso and Bimhuis in Amsterdam, Oerol Festival at Terschelling and in the Netherlands and The Ollin Kan Festival (Mexico City), Canada Afrobeat Summit (Calgary, Canada), Sensommer Int Musikkfestival (Oslo, Norway), Festival Musicas Do Mar and Festival Musicas do Mundo (Portugal), Festival Art des Ville – Arts des Champs (France) and The London African Music Festival, Hot Club in Lyon and Cave a Musique in Macon (France). In November of 2010 Sosimi was appointed Afrobeat musical consultant to The London stage production Fela! on The National Theatre, London, where he also played the keyboard.
