Teller and Edna (nee Lichtenstein). After the Nazi annexation in 1938 of Austria, his father fled to the United States. However, he returned to Vienna to rebuild the family business after World War II. As a boy, Teller moved with his parents to Stamford in Connecticut.

Teller created a 1996 docudrama about miracles in daily life (Do you Believe in Miracles?) The film was viewed by more than 70,000 people at synagogues and Jewish community centers around the world. He released a documentary in March 2012 about Elimelech of Lizhensk, the Hasidic master and the Hasidic legacy. It also features musical performances by Abish Brodt (Jewish music personality) and Avraham Fried.

In the mid-1980s, he published his first series of books, Once Upon a Soul. Soul Survivors was his first series of books in the mid-1980s. It featured true stories that promote the themes of divine Providence and human kindness. Later, Teller expanded into biographies about contemporary Orthodox Jewish figures — such as Rabbi Shlomo Zolman Auerbach (whose shiur he went to for 14 years), Rabbi Levi Yitzchak Horowitz, the Baltimore Torah day school principal Rabbi Binyamin Sternberg, Toronto philanthropist Joseph Tanenbaum and Mir rosh yeshiva Rabbi Nosson Tzvi Finkel, whom he studied under for more than 30 years — and used anec to teach moral and ethics and lessons His corpus contains stories about specific ethical concepts such as the ability to judge others favorably (Courtrooms of the Mind), integrity (“Above the Bottom Line”), and how to avoid argumentation and strife (“Give Peace a Chance”).
