Janowski has been a member since 1976 of the New Arts Trio. He participated in many music festivals, including Marlboro, VT and Chautauqua (NY), Dimitrios, Warsaw Autumn, and Dimitrios. He was a lecturer at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music, Eastman School of Music, Rochester, NY, and Barratt-Due Institutt, Oslo, Norway. Masterclasses were held at Thessaloniki Conservatory and Conservatorio di Bologna. He also led masterclasses at Ohio State University, Columbus. Evenstone. The Oberlin College, Northwestern University.
He continued his studies at Curtis Institute of Music, Philadelphia with Ivan Galamian. Later, he studied at the Juilliard School of Music, New York as a pupil of Galamian or Zino Francescatti. Janowski was invited to the Summer Masterclass in Montreux, Switzerland, by Henryk Szeryng (and Zino Francescatti) in 1974. He was a private scholar of Jascha Heifetz between 1975 and 1977 at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles.

Janowski was born in Grudziadz, Poland. He won the V International Henryk Wieniawski violin competition in Poznan in 1967 at the age of 16. He was awarded a distinction from The Higher State School of Music, Warsaw. There he completed the five year course in just one academic year under the guidance of Irena Dubiska (1969-1970).
