Prior to the inaugural Major League Rugby season in 2018, it was announced that Germishuys would be joining the Austin Elite in the newly-formed league. Germishuys made his debut for the Elite in the team’s first regular season match on April 21, 2018, starting at flanker and scoring a try, in a 41–26 defeat to Glendale. Over just five appearances for the Elite during the season, Germishuys scored six total tries, putting him in a tie for tenth place among league leaders in individual scoring and a tie for second place among league leaders in individual tries scored. At season’s end, Germishuys was named to the All-MLR First Team at flanker.
Germishuys was a substitute in the Eagles’ loss to Brazil 2423 on the 2016 Americas Rugby Championship. Germishuys was a substitute in the Eagles’ 29-10 win over Canada at the 2018 Americas Rugby Championship. He made his debut as a flanker on February 10, 2018. Germishuys also represented the United States internationally with several age-grade sides as well as with the USA Selects. Germishuys has also played professional rugby for the Denver Stampede.
Germishuys was named to the roster for the United States’ junior all-American men’s under-20 team (Junior All-Americans), in March 2014. This was for the 2014 IRB Junior World Rugby Trophy. Germishuys, along with Ben Cima, were both so young at the time that waivers were required to allow them to participate in the tournament. Germishuys was also a Junior All-American in the qualifying matches for 2015 World Rugby Under 20 Trophy against Canada. Germishuys participated in both matches of the two-legged tie. The Junior All-Americans lost on aggregate 65-29. Germishuys was the Junior All-Americans’ captain for the 2016 World Rugby Under 20 Trophy. Germishuys was the Team Captain with eight tries. He also won the Player of the Tournament award.
Ahead of PRO Rugby’s inaugural season in 2016, it was announced that Germishuys would join the Denver Stampede. Germishuys made his debut with the Stampede on May 15, 2016, starting at flanker and scoring two tries, in Denver’s 35–13 victory over Sacramento. Germishuys scored six total tries for the Stampede across nine total appearances for the club.
