Four years of consistently good performances at the domestic level allowed him to finally get the chance to play Super Rugby when the Auckland-based Blues included him in their training squad to train for their year 2015 Super Rugby season. He is able to wear both the numbers 1 and 2 however, having spent in the previous campaign as hooker in Auckland Pleasants-Tate was forced to contend for the position with Matt Moulds to provide back for All Blacks; Keven Mealamu and James Parsons and subsequently only played one substitute game against the Rebels during his sole year for the Blues.
Tony Brown replaced the Japan-bound Jamie Joseph as Highlanders head-coach ahead of the 2017 season and he retained Pleasants-Tate in the squad for the year.

However, Pleasants-Tate produced some excellent performances in the number one jersey, playing in all 10 games of the regular season, scoring two attempts. It would the end of his time with North Shore City and he took the decision into the ITM Cup Premiership side Auckland for the 2015 ITM Cup. He was a 10-time hooker for Auckland during his first season when they made it to the Premiership final, but lost 25-22 to Canterbury. 2016 didn’t prove to be as a sturdy year for either side and Auckland finishing 5th on the Premiership table, just outside the playoffs, and injury hindering Pleasants-Tate’s progress in the latter half of the season, and limiting the player to only 6 games during which time he was able to score three scores.
