Gordon Macpherson (born 9 October 1962) is an ex- New Zealand rugby union player. A lock, Macpherson was a part of Poverty Bay and Otago at the provincial level. He was a player in one game in The New Zealand national side, the All Blacks, a test against France in 1986.
Macpherson Macpherson left Glasgow Warriors after Kiwi Searancke was fired in April 2003. The club was believed to have been a victim of the aggressive style Searancke was able to develop at the provincial professional club resulted in a conflict between the players and management.
Macpherson received his All Blacks cap at a ceremony in Gisborne, New Zealand in 2009.
He returned to Scotland and became the new Head Coach for Glasgow Hutchesons Aloysians RFC, another amateur club, for the 2011-12 season. He stepped down from this role in 2014 when GHA announced a younger coaching team headed by former Glasgow Warriors player Peter Jericevich who, at 24, will take on the role as player-coach.
When he left the Glasgow club, he was named to the position of West of Scotland Head coach in June 2003.

He left Otago at the age of 23 in 1993. He then moved to Scotland where he served as a player-coach in the club West of Scotland. West of Scotland is an amateur club of rugby situated in Milngavie close to Glasgow. He was planning to marry to a Scot and move to Scotland.
He was a forwards coach in Scotland. He was involved in coaching the Scotland “A” team. He also was the forwards coach for Scotland’s Glasgow Warriors, then Glasgow Rugby under Kevin Greene in 1996 (part-time) and then full-time professionally in the direction of Keith Robertson in November 1997. He continued as in the role of assistant coach under Glasgow Chief Coaches Richie Dixon and Kiwi Searancke.
Macpherson then moved to the USA coaching an exile team in Sarasota, Florida in 2004. He was to become the assistant coach to the USA Hawks. The North America 4 rugby union league was replaced in 2009 by the Americas Rugby Championship and the USA Hawks folded.
