Frankie Horne is one of the most popular and richest Rugby Union Player who was born on February 24, 1983 in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape, South Africa. Francis Henry Horne (born 24 February 1983) is an South African rugby union player who was a member of the South African Sevens team from 2007 to 2016. He also played rugby 15-man with Wellington at club level as well as with the Boland Cavaliers at provincial level. He was mostly flanker, but could also be an oblique player or an a center at times.
At the time of 2006’s Vodacom Cup in 2006, Horne only played in the Cavaliers in their game against Free State XV, but Horne was not unnoticed by his South African Sevens selectors and was invited to join an Sevens training group towards the close of 2006.
He once again had limited involvement in the 2007 Vodacom Cup, playing off the bench on two occasions as the replacement hooker. However, he was included in the Boland Cavaliers Currie Cup side for the 2007 Currie Cup Premier Division. He made his Currie Cup debut on 22 June 2007 against the Free State Cheetahs in Bloemfontein, being on the wrong end of a 91–3 scoreline. After three more matches that saw Horne play-off the bench, he made his first start in their 50–25 defeat to the Sharks and eventually made a total of eight appearances.
He once again played every leg of the 2008–09 IRB Sevens World Series, as South Africa won the series for the first time at their tenth attempt. He also played in the 2009 Rugby World Cup Sevens competition, helping South Africa to the quarter-finals, where they lost to Argentina. He also won a bronze medal with the side at the 2009 World Games in Kaohsiung, Republic of China (Taiwan).
He made his class debut with the Boland Cavaliers during the 2005 Vodacom Cup competition, which saw him start their opening game for the year against Pumas as they pushed them secure the victory of 34-20. He also made two substitute appearances in their games with Griquas in addition to the Leopards while his team placed third in section X in the tournament. They went on to get to the semi-finals of this competition. He also played for Boland’s amateur team in Boland’s amateur team in the Provincial Amateur Competition in 2005.
