Jackman returned to Gillingham on August 25, 2009 and made his debut game as a sub an Football League Cup game against Blackburn Rovers the same day. Jackman was able to play in 24 games during his return to Gillingham, but he was absent for almost four months of football throughout the season because of an injured shoulder. For the 2010-11 season Jackman was once more Jackman was plagued by injuries, the latest being a frequent knee injury. The knee injury limited his games played to 17 games, where he scored one goal. Gillingham was Gillingham’s team player for in the 2011/12 season.

Jackman began his career with Premier League side Aston Villa as a player. The reality is that Jackman did not play for Aston Villa’s first team, but there were two loan spells. The first time at Cambridge United, the second at Stockport County. Young Jackman certainly made his mark at Stockport after they signed him up at the end of his loan for the sum of PS70,000 during the year 2003/04. The following year and a half, Jackman made 54 league appearances (9 as an opportunist) scoring five goals.

On 28 January 2013, Jackman was said to be frustrated with the lack of first team action at Priestfield and opted to sign for Kidderminster Harriers of the Conference Premier. Jackman rejected two League clubs to sign for a club situated in his home county.
