Courtney Kresten Winnaar (born 27 March 1997 in East London, South Africa) is an South African rugby union player for the Southern Kings in the Pro14. He can be either a fly-half or fullback.

At the end of 2016, Winnaar was a member of his first team, the Eastern Province Academy. He was a part of the team for the NMMU Madibaz, a university-based rugby team associated to Eastern Province’s Academy for the 16th Varsity Cup. He was as a reserve for their game with UJ in Johannesburg however he was unable to appear.

He was part of a huge group of young players who were part of the Eastern Province Kings squad for the 2016 Currie Cup qualification series. He was selected as a reserve for their opening game this season, against SWD Eagles and replaced Keanu Vers at half-time, only to make his debut debut in a loss of 14-37. He was then promoted to the starting line-up for their final match this season, against Boland Cavaliers in Wellington and was also given the kick-off duties. Two penalties were kicked during the first quarter of the match , and got his debut senior score after the half hour, in an eventual 18-37 loss. He scored a second score in their subsequent match with the Border Bulldogs the following week and also kicked the conversion in a loss 14-28 and scored three tries in three games after scoring the third score of EP Kings’ five tries in their 31-18 win against Namibian team that they called the Welwitschias from Windhoek.

Winnaar was a student at Dale College Boys High School at King William’s Town, earning provincial selections to in the Border Bulldogs between 2013 and 2015. He was a part of the team in the under-16 Grant Khomo Week held in Vanderbijlpark with one score during the competition in their 15-13 win over Free State. He took part in the top South African high schools competition The Under-18 Craven week both in 2014 and the year 2015. He scored a try in both of these tournaments.
