Colin began his professional career at London Welsh while studying at Polytechnic of Central London. The club he played for until 1995 after which he joined Swansea RFC. Charvis was born in Jamaican origin by his dad.
The year 2000 was the time that Charvis had been implicated by Grannygate because he was first banned from Wales in 1996, despite being not being eligible. But, at the time the scandal was exposed, he had completed the mandatory 3 year residence period, and there was no further action taken.
He remained with Swansea until changes in the Welsh club structure saw him without a contract in the period of the 2003 Rugby World Cup.
Charvis’s contract with the Falcons was not renewed at the end of the 2005-6 season. He subsequently joined the Newport Gwent Dragons. He made his debut for the club in August in a pre-season friendly against the Cornish Pirates
