Velleman was part of Velleman’s Eastern Province Kings squad for the 2014 Vodacom Cup and made his debut in the class on March 15th, 2014 (a just a few days shy of his birthday) during their 60-6 win against opponents Border Bulldogs in Grahamstown. An appearance by a substitute was made during their game with Western Province, as well as a second start against the Free State XV in Cradock.
In March 2015, Velleman was named in an extended South Africa Under-20 training group as part of their preparation for the 2015 World Rugby Under 20 Championship. He featured for them in a friendly match against a Varsity Cup Dream Team in April 2015. He was included in the S.A. Under-20 squad that toured Argentina in May 2015 and started their first match, a 25–22 victory over Argentina. He didn’t feature in the second match and also missed out on the final squad for the 2015 World Rugby Under 20 Championship.
At the start of 2015, Velleman played in the 2015 Varsity Cup tournament for the NMMU Madibaz. He made six appearances for the team as they finished in seventh position; it was a disappointing season for an NMMU side that qualified for the semi-finals in the last two competitions, but Velleman made his mark by scoring tries in their matches against NWU Pukke and UJ.
In the second quarter in 2014, the player was captain of his Eastern Province U19 team in the Provincial Championship for Under-19s, the first time his team was in Group A of the tournament after being promoted to Group B towards the close of 2013. He began the season by scoring the Eastern Province’s second score in a 17-29 loss to the champions of the last two years, Blue Bulls U19. Blue Bulls U19 and maintained the highest score of try-scoring throughout the 11 matches took place during the season. He scored scoring home and away against both the Golden Lions U19, and the Leopards U19 and as well as a home try in the match against Western Province U19 with his six tries , making Eastern Province’s second-highest attempt scorer and points-scoring player ahead of the fullback Malcolm Jaer. He was made a part of his Eastern Province U21 side for the final two games of the 2014 Provincial Under-21 Championship. The U21 team already finishing in the top spot of Group B winning seven out of seven matches in their regular campaign, Velleman was part of the team for their semi-final against the Limpopo Blue Bulls U21. He assisted them in securing an impressive 28-26 victory in the match, and also scored a try in their 46-3 win against SWD U21, who won the championship one week later, to win the champions of Group B. Velleman recorded two goals during their promotion play-off game in the play-off match against Eastern Cape rivals Border U21 and helped them win an impressive 64-9 win and a spot in the Group A of the 2015 competition.

Velleman was the captain of the team at his high school Grey High School at various youth levels, including the initial team in 2012 and 2013. He also played for Eastern Province as various youth levels. He captained their Under-16 team at the 2010 Grant Khomo Week and played for their Under-18 team in their 2012 and 2013 Craven Week tournaments, also the captain of Eastern Province at the latter event in Polokwane.
He was vice-captain of his Eastern Province U21 side in their first season as part of group A in the Provincial Under-21 Championship following their promotion from Group B in 2014. The team had a difficult time throughout the tournament and only won one of their twelve games and finishing last on the table. Velleman recorded two scores during the 24-40 loss against The Golden Lions U21s and one more in their defeat of 31-45 against Western Province U21, making seven appearances in the tournament and injuries limiting his participation.
In December 2015, Velleman was one of the first twenty players that signed contracts to play for the Southern Kings in the 2016 Super Rugby season.
