Kweku Charles Bismark Taylor (born on July 14, 1981, in Sefwi, Western Region) is a Ghanaian footballer who is a player at Berekum Chelsea. He’s also an integral part of the famed “64 Battalion” squad of Accra Hearts of Oak S.C. which was crowned the African Champions League in 2000 and subsequently Ghanaian league championships.
He was controversially moved to Accra Hearts of Oak to the arch-rivals Asante Kotoko back in the year 2003 for a record-breaking fee for transfers in the domestic market that was GHC| 40,000 (roughly $42,000). Charles Taylor essentially boycotted training with Hearts of Oak and was not a part of any matches until the season in order to make it easier for him to move. His first season at Kotoko was a huge success and he was crowned his first Ghana Premier league with Kotoko in 2003. But, the move led to a lot of negative local sentiments toward Taylor and his popularity has not been restored… Taylor joined Etoile du Sahel from Kotoko in 2004 for a sum of $250,000. After a failed time in Tunisia the club was loaned by Accra Hearts of Oak in October of 2006.
