Carl Bezuidenhout, a former South African rugby league footballer, was born in Grahamstown on 10 February 1986. Between 2006 and 2015, he was a full-back or a fly-half and also played professional rugby. In 2015, he retired to teach at Union Schools in Graaff–Reinet.
He broke the Currie Cup First Division all-time points scoring record during the 2013 season, finishing the season with 217 points to lead the Pumas to their title. To help the Pumas win promotion to Currie Cup Premier Division, he also scored eight points during the first leg in their promotion play-off match.
In 2014, he joined Scottish Pro12 side Edinburgh on an extended trial until the end of the 2013–14 season. His first appearance came as a half-time substitute during the Heineken Cup victory over USA Perpignan on 11 January 2014.
He signed-off from Scottish rugby when he scored 16 points in helping Boroughmuir to win the Scottish Cup, beating Hawick 55-17 in the final, at Murrayfield Stadium, on Saturday, 18 April 2015.
He was part of the South Africa President’s V team that participated in the 2013 IRB Tbilisi Cup. They won the tournament after winning three matches. He was the South Africa President’s top scorer with 25 points.

Bezuidenhout began his rugby career in Durban. He represented the Sharks from 2006 to 2009. After playing for the Mighty Elephants from 2006 to 2009, Bezuidenhout joined the Pumas in 2009. He played most of his rugby career with the Pumas.
Bezuidenhout was part of the South Africa Sevens Team for the 2007 Wellington Sevens, and the 2007 USA Sevens competitions in the 2006-07 IRB Sevens World Series.
He was unable to clinch a regular place in the Edinburgh XV, however, and in the season 2014–2015 professional players draft, he was assigned to Boroughmuir RFC and played mainly for that club in the BT Premiership, the highest level of amateur club rugby in Scotland.
