Beyers Johannes de Villiers (born (1992-01-06 ) 6 January 1992) is a former South African rugby union player who played as flanker. He played in the first class of the game for Western Province in 2016 and was a part of the University side Maties at the Varsity Cup between 2013 and 2017. He resigned in February 2017 due to medical reasons.
He played in their first six games during their 2014. Varsity Cup, scoring a score in their 33-21 victory against NWU Pukke and two tries in their 24-8 win against UJ in the final game. Maties ended up in third position on the list after defeating UCT Ikey Tigers in the semi-finals.
He was called up by Western Province for their 2016 Currie Cup qualification series. He made his first class debut on 20 May 2016, coming on as a replacement in a 27–20 victory over the Pumas in Nelspruit in Round Seven of the competition. He started a match for the first time a fortnight later, also scoring his first senior try in a 43–34 victory over the Leopards in Potchefstroom. He made one more start in the competition in a 45–17 victory over the SWD Eagles and scored one more try in their 7–71 victory over Namibian side the Welwitschias to help Western Province to 13 wins in their 14 matches, to finish the competition top of the log. He was also named in their squad for the 2016 Currie Cup Premier Division, but failed to make an appearance in the competition.
The 2016 Varsity Cup saw an improvement of their fortunes, and they finished top, winning six of their seven matches during the regular season. De Villiers started five of those matches, scoring tries in matches against CUT Ixias, NMMU Madibaz and NWU Pukke. He also started their semi-final match against UP Tuks and scored two tries in a 49–11 win. However, his side fell just short in the final, losing 6–7 to NWU Pukke.
In the beginning in the season 2013 De Villiers represented university side Maties in the Varsity Cup. He played five times during the tournament, starting two times and scored a score in their game in the match against Western Cape rivals, the UCT Ikey Tigers. Maties ended up at the top of the list with a win in all seven games and qualifying for a home semi-final. De Villiers came on as an extra in their 16-15 win over NMMU Madibaz in the semi- final and also in the final match, where Maties fell in their opening match of the season, falling 544 against UP Tuks.

De Villiers was born in Pretoria however he grew up in Western Cape province, where he went to Paarl Boys High School. In the year 2010, De Villiers was chosen for the team representing Western Province at the premier high school rugby union event that took place in South Africa, the Under-18 Craven Week. De Villiers started the three matches during the tournament in Welkom and helped his team to two wins to secure an invitation to the non-official final, which they were defeated by Free State.
He also was a member of Western Province youth teams after high school. In 2011 the year he was a major participant in his Western Province U19 team that took part in the Provincial Under-19 Championship. He played in thirteen of their 13 matches at the event. He was able to help his team qualify to play in the semi-finals, placing third in the Group A log with seven wins from their 12 matches. De Villiers also started in their semi-final with the Golden Lions U19 team, but the side was eliminated by this point, as Johannesburg’s team Johannesburg defeated them 32-27. He was a player in 2012 and was promoted to the team’s Under-21 squad and played in four games of the Provincial Championship for Under-21s with one score in a victory of 31-20 against their counterparts, the Leopards U21s.
He again started six matches in 2015, scoring four tries – two in a 26–all draw against NWU Pukke and one against UJ and NMMU Madibaz – in a disappointing season for Maties, losing out on a semi-final berth by finishing in fourth place on the log.
