Yazid Mansouri, also known as yzyd mnSwry / Yazid Mensuri, was born 25 February 1978. He played as a middlefielder in Algeria. Mansouri, who had previously indicated to the media that he wouldn’t be taking part in the friendly against Gabon in August and in the qualifiers for the 2012 African Cup of Nations, announced his retirement from international soccer on June 26, 2010.

Mansouri signed in 2004 with Ligue 2 side LB Chateauroux, where he quickly established himself as a central player. He would make 63 appearances with the club, scoring 2 goals and starting all of them. In 2005-2006, he was the captain of the team.

Shortly after the 2010 World Cup, Mansouri announced his international retirement. With 67 appearances for the national team, Mansouri is the 9th most capped player in Algeria’s history.

Mansouri was a member of the Algerian team at the 2010 World Cup. However, he lost the captaincy and a spot in the starting line-up prior to the first group game against Slovenia. He did not participate in any of Algeria’s games at the World Cup.

Mansouri was loaned to Coventry City F.C. for the 2003-04 season. Mansouri played 14 games in the first half of 2003-04 season. He then left to play for Algeria in the 2004 African Cup of Nations, Mali, against his clubs wishes. His contract was terminated, and he was without a club the remainder of the season.

Mansouri was born in Revin, Ardennes in France. He began his football career with Tinqueux SC in Tinqueux, which was a small Tinqueux team that played in the sixth division. He signed with Le Havre AC, a club in Ligue 1 at the age of 17. His first two seasons were spent in the reserve team. In 1997-1998, he made his debut as a substitute in the second half against Olympique de Marseille. He would gradually assert himself at the club, eventually making 134 appearances and scoring 2 goal in six seasons in Ligue 1 as well as Ligue 2.

Mansouri was first to play for the Algerian national side in a friendlies against FC Zurich in 1999. On 6 November 2001, he was called up to the national team in a friendly match against France. He was part of the Algerian team in the 2002 African Cup of Nations. The 2004 African Cup of Nations was also his first official call-up.

At the beginning of the 2006 season, Mansouri signed a two-year contract with Ligue 1 side FC Lorient.
