Vicente Javier “Xavi” Valero Verchili (born 28 February 1973) is a Spanish former goalkeeper in football and currently a goalkeeping coach for Premier League team West Ham United.
Valero continued to be part of Benitez’s coaching team in Inter Milan, Napoli and Real Madrid. In June of 2018 Valero was appointed as goalkeeping coach, as part of Manuel Pellegrini’s coaching staff for West Ham United.

Valero was born in Castellon de la Plana in the Valencian Community. He played in 67 games of the Segunda Division, winning promotion with RCD Mallorca (1997), Real Murcia (2003) and Recreativo de Huelva in 2006 despite not being a first-choice player for any of these campaigns. He also played for Cordoba CF in that division and played in the full 92 Segunda Division B matches, mostly for his home team CD Castellon.
