He was triple World Junior medalist, the 1998-1999 Junior Grand Prix Final champion as well as the 1999 Trophee Lalique silver medalist as well as the 2000 Ondrej Nepela Memorial champion.
The 2001 World Junior Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria, Restencourt placed second in his qualifying group. He also placed sixth in short race, followed by second place in the open. He took home the bronze medal after Americans Johnny Weir and Evan Lysacek.
On February 20, 2000 Restencourt placed tenth in the European Championships in Vienna, Austria. Then, in March of 2000, Restencourt took home his silver medal in the 2000 World Junior Championships in Oberstdorf, Germany, placing second behind German’s Stefan Lindemann after ranking third in his qualifying group. He placed second in short event, and the first for free. In the following month, he was 9th during the 2000 World Championships in Nice, France.

In the 1997-98 ISU Junior Series, Restencourt took bronze from Ukraine along with bronze Hungary to make it to his place in the Junior Series Final, where he placed fourth.
Restencourt began the 1998-99 season on the Junior Grand Prix (JGP) series, winning gold in Saint-Gervais-les-Bains, France and then in Chemnitz, Germany. Then, in November of 1998, he participated in the 1999 World Junior Championships in Zagreb, Croatia. He was ranked third among his qualified group being first on the short skate and second in free skating and received the silver medal, which was a step behind Russian’s Ilia Klimkin.
