Brooklee Han was born in Beverly, Massachusetts. In 2013 she completed her graduation from Joel Barlow High School, located in Redding, Connecticut. The following year, she was an adjunct student of Wesleyan University. She was studying international relations as well as German before taking a break in the year 2016 to pursue a degree in Texas. She has a father who is Australian.

She announced her retirement from competitive skating on July 1, 2019.

Brooklee Han began skating at age five in Brewster, New York. Serhii Vaypan was her coach in 2007. Han has been training at the Newington Arena in Newington, Connecticut as well as in the International Skating Center of Connecticut in Simsbury, Connecticut, and Medibank Icehouse in Melbourne, Victoria.

The controversy regarding the Olympic admissions continued, with allegations that Han was disqualified after participating at a club competition at the time in America without the consent of the national organization. In the end, the Court of Arbitration for Sport was able to hear this case on December 13, 2013. Despite the ruling of the court that Han’s participation may have resulted in her becoming ineligible for the Olympics, prior communication between her and Ice Skating Australia (ISA) proved that ISA did not have any reservations about her participation in the competition. The claims were ultimately denied and Han was declared Australia’s female representative during the Olympics. Han was later placed 20th at the Olympics and 19th at the 2014 World Championships.

On June 27, 2014, Han was selected to compete at the 2014 Skate America, the first of six competitions in the 2014–15 Grand Prix series. After another skater withdrew, she was given a spot to the 2014 Skate Canada International. Han finished in 10th and 8th place, respectively.
