Since then she’s started training Canada at first in part-time mode, then full-time as of 2014. Training at the Vancouver Skating Club and is as well coach by Lorna and being coached by Rod Mackie.
She debuted as a senior in a few Canadian competitions and set three National senior records before becoming the senior national champion of 2015/16
Julia had to withdraw from 2016-17 Icelandic National Championships due to injury.
Julia had made her debut as a junior athlete at Coupe du Printemps in the spring of the previous year. She went on to win the silver medal at the junior Icelandic Nationals 2011 followed by another silver medal at the Reykjavik International Games in 2012.

She joined the Icelandic national squad in the year 2010 as a novice at international competitions such as the Warsaw Cup and placed 19th among more than 30 competitors. She was also a part of Nordics in 2011. She also was a part of Reykjavik as a city representative Reykjavik at the 2011 International Winter Games for children held at Kelowna, Canada and placed 17th in the novice category.
In summer of 2013 she suffered torn ligaments in her ankle and was away from practice for 4 months being away from competition for 10 months.
