Mete was chosen 100th overall from the Canadiens in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft.

Mete began his year 2018-19 playing for the Canadiens in the NHL. After struggling through the first 23 games, Mete was sent to the Canadiens American Hockey League affiliate called named the Laval Rocket, to help develop. Mete was sent back into the NHL on the 17th of December, after registering three assists and one goal over seven AHL games.

On the 27th of March 2017 Mete was signed to a three-year entry-level deal to the Canadiens. In the weeks leading up into the 2017-18 campaign Mete was a standout at Montreal training camp, and made the team’s opening night roster. Mete scored his first point on the 17 and recorded an assist in a 5-2 loss at the San Jose Sharks. On March 2 of 2018 Mete quit a contest in the New York Islanders due to an injury. A day later, it was revealed that Mete was injured in a finger and was expected to miss six weeks.

Mete was selected at the beginning of round 8th overall by Owen Sound Attack in the first round of Owen Sound Attack in the 2014 OHL draft However, he was traded prior to making an appearance for his club, his fellow club the London Knights in exchange for six draft selections (three seconds three seconds, two thirds and an unconfirmed sixth). Mete would later play for three seasons for the London Knights, helping the team to win the Memorial Cup in 2016. 2005. In 51 games with the Canadiens, Mete tallied 4 goals and 11 points from the blueline before suffering a season-ending broken foot against the Detroit Red Wings on February 18, 2020.
