Tommy Langley is one of the most popular and richest English footballer who was born on February 8, 1958 in Elephant and Castle, England, United Kingdom. Thomas William Langley (born 8 February 1958) is an English retired footballer who played in the 1970s and 80s as striker. He is currently hosts on Matchnight Live on Chelsea TV.

Following a rather disappointing season in 1983-84, Langley was signed to Wolverhampton Wanderers in 1984 where he scored four goals over 23 games. The 1984-85 season ended with Aldershot Town, where he scored another four goals over the course of 16 games.

After his stint with the Wanderers and Aldershot, Langley left Europe in 1985 to play for Hong Kong-based South China.

After spending a year in Asia, Langley returned to England and rejoined Aldershot in 1986. He spent two more years with the club appearing in 81 matches and scoring 21 goals.

After a brief stint with QPR, Langley joined Crystal Palace in the month of March, 1981 for a fee of PS200,000. He remained there until 1983. In his time in Crystal Palace he appeared in the league in 59 games and scored eight goal (71 as well in the entire matches).

Langley began his professional career as an apprentice for Chelsea before making his debut in the 1975 season in the match against Leicester City, when aged 16 years and nine months. The club was relegated that same year and for the rest of Langley’s time at Chelsea, they shifted between the top and bottom divisions. He made his debut in Chelsea’s debut season into the First Division in 1977-78, where the team scored 13 goals which made him the club’s top goal scorer. In the following season, Chelsea were near the lowest of the league for the entire season , and were relegated in the end of March. Langley scored goals – three times more than the total scored by his fellow players and a rare shining spot and for which he was awarded the club’s player of year. While playing for Chelsea the club, he was a goal scorer in just 152 matches.

After Chelsea’s inability to secure instant promotion in 1979-80 Langley was signed to Queens Park Rangers for PS400,000 in August of 1980. In his time with QPR Langley played at 25 times and scored eight goals. He scored against his former teammates in his first game in just two weeks following the time the switch from Chelsea and scoring QPR’s fastest league goal after 12 seconds of play against Bolton on the 11th of October, 1980.

In 1983, Langley left English football for a spell with AEK Athens. Langley only appeared in five matches for the Greek club and returned to England to play for Coventry City halfway into the season. Langley appeared in two games for Coventry. During his seven combined appearances with the two sides during the 1983–84 season, he did not score any goals.
