Thomas Patrick Chorske (born September 18th 1996) was an American retired professional hockey player. As a forward, he played for 11 years in the National Hockey League (NHL). In Septemberof 2006, he became the as color commentary for New Jersey Devils radio broadcasts which he had for one season before being let go. He was replaced by an ex-team color commentator Sherry Ross (who broadcast games from 1992-1995). Chorske was able to return to Minnesota and is currently in the field of business. He is also a the hockey analyst at Fox Sports North covering The NHL Minnesota Wild and University of Minnesota Golden Gopher NCAA hockey games.

After being selected, Chorske played two seasons of NCAA hockey at the University of Minnesota followed by an entire year of playing for the 1987-1988 US National Team training to play in the Winter Olympics in Calgary. However, Chorske was the last player to be cut from the team before they made their way to Calgary to compete in the Olympics. Tom came back to Minnesota’s University of Minnesota for the 1988-89 season , and played a major role for the teams success that season.

In 1989–90, Chorske played 14 games with the Montreal Canadiens, scoring three goals and an assist. After another season in Montreal, he joined the New Jersey Devils, playing 76 games in 1991–92, scoring 19 goals and 36 points. In 1993–94, he had his finest offensive year, scoring 21 goals and 41 points but it was the following season which was by far the most satisfying for Chorske, his teammates and fans of the Devils. After several years of being near the top of the NHL, the Devils finally put it all together in the spring of 1995, defeating the Detroit Red Wings in four straight games to claim the Stanley Cup.

During the 1994–95 NHL lockout, he played in Italy.

After an impressive athletic career in high school hockey during his time at Minneapolis Southwest High School, Chorske was named Mr. Hockey as the state’s most outstanding high school athlete in 1985, which was the inaugural year of the honor. Shortly after, Tom was selected by the Montreal Canadiens 16th overall in the 1985 NHL Entry Draft.

Chorske was a quarterback on the Minneapolis Southwest High School football team between the years 1984 as well as 1985. He was selected to his first team for the all-conference team at his high school between 1984 and 1985 and was named the first Mr Hockey in 1985 as Minnesota’s most outstanding senior hockey player.
