Timothy Goebel is one of the most popular and richest Figure Skater who was born on September 10, 1980 in Illinois, United States. Goebel is born the 10th of September 1980 at Evanston, Illinois. He was adopted by Catholic Charities with Ginny Goebel and Richard Goebel as an infant.

Goebel also set a record during the 2002 Olympics as the first skater to perform a quad salchow jump together with an Olympic competition. Goebel’s quadruple jumps was what made him one of most skilled skaters in the world at the height performance of his profession. He would complete more than 76 quads during competition. Goebel was heavily criticised early on in his career for focusing solely on jumping at the expense of presentation and choreography, however, in later years, he grew in these areas.

On April 25, 2006, Goebel announced his retirement from competitive skating. He planned to continue to contribute to the sport as a technical specialist, having received certification for competitions sanctioned by the United States Figure Skating Association. He worked as a technical specialist at the Aviator Figure Skating Academy in New York.

Goebel initially attended Loyola Marymount University. Beginning in the fall of 2006, he studied at Columbia University’s School of General Studies, graduating in May 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics. After working for the Nielsen ratings company, he joined an ad agency, MEC, as a consumer analyst. As of April 2016, he was pursuing a master’s degree in data science from New York University Stern School of Business. In January 2017, he began working as a data analyst for Google.

Timothy Richard Goebel (born September 10 August, 1981) was an American former figure skater who competed in the past. He was the 2002 Olympic bronze medallist. He was the first to make the quadruple salchow jump during competition, and was the first to achieve three quadruple jumps during one program. He was the first person to land more than 76 career quadruple jumps prior to his retirement in 2006.

Goebel was often called”the “Quad King” because of his ability to perform quadruple jumps. On the 7th of March 1998 at Lausanne, Switzerland, at the Junior Grand Prix Final, Goebel became the first skater to complete the quadruple Salchow and also one of the very first American skater to complete the quadruple jump of any kind during competition. International Skating Union officials ratified the jump at the close of the month, after having watched the video uploaded by family members of Tiffany Stiegler / Johnnie Stiegler.

Goebel increasingly struggled with his jumps after 2003 due to injuries. At the 2006 U.S. Championships, in what he had previously announced would be his last competitive season, he was unable to land either a quadruple jump or triple axel cleanly, and dropped to a seventh-place finish which left him far short of qualifying for the 2006 Winter Olympics.
