Tim Clancy (born 8 June 1984) is an Irish football manager who is the manager of League of Ireland side Drogheda United In his professional profession, Clancy played for Millwall, Walton & Hersham, Weymouth, Fisher Athletic, Kilmarnock, Motherwell, Hibernian, St Johnstone, Shamrock Rovers, Sligo Rovers and Bray Wanderers. Clancy is the manager of Drogheda United in the League of Ireland First Division.

Clancy signed a two-year deal for two years with Hibernian at the end of June. Clancy scored the opening goal in a match against Celtic on September 1, in which he capitalized on an offensive mix-up. The goal was the very first he’d scored since joining English non-league football for more than six years prior. Clancy was a regular player for Hibs until he was struck by an injury to his groin that required medical advice from a specialist. He was still suffering from issues with his injury and was released at the request of Hibs in January of 2014.

Tim returned home to sign for Shamrock Rovers in February 2015 [1]. In July 2015 Tim went on loan to Sligo Rovers until November. In January 2016 Tim signed permanently for Sligo but left the club in June. On 28 June Tim went on trial at Bray Wanderers during their 1-0 friendly win against Falkirk. On 30 June Tim signed permanently for Bray making his competitive debut vs Bohemians.

On December 5, 2017 Clancy was appointed as Manager of League of Ireland First Division side Drogheda United. This is his first role in management and will be assisted in the role by newly appointed Director of Football Dave Robertson (football manager).

Clancy relocated from Motherwell in August of this year and signed a one-year contract. Motherwell took on Clancy to fill in for the long-term injury sustained from Steven Saunders. Clancy was a regular player in the central defence of Mothewell as well as Shaun Hutchinson. He also played in both full back positions throughout the season. After the season Clancy turned down a contract extension from Motherwell.

Clancy was signed by Scottish Premier League (SPL) club Kilmarnock in the beginning of 2007 using amateur forms. He signed an one-year professional deal in June 2007 with Kilmarnock in June of 2007. Clancy began his career the left back away position to Gretna in September, and played enough games during the 2007-08 season that he was able to get an automatic extension of his contract. On 28 February 2014, Clancy signed for St Johnstone on a contract until the end of the 2013–14 season despite interests from Derry City. Clancy scored his first goal for the club, in a 3–3 draw against Celtic on 7 May 2014, which turns out to be his last appearance for the club. Clancy sustained a serious Achilles injury during training and needed an operation that ruled him out of the final of Scottish Cup. At the end of the 2013–14 season, Clancy was among four players to be released by St Johnstone.
