Gray (born 23rd November 1963 at Bar Harbor, Maine) is a well-known American horror author who wrote a number of short stories, novels and a book about ghost hunting. Gray reside in Birch Harbor, Maine and is an active participant in the Horror Writers Association.
Gray’s debut novel, a long, rambling, and error-ridden erotica vampire novel written during high school was never published, neither was his second novel Eriksson’s Vinlanda the work, which is that was based on Icelandic Sagas. The third novel was a hit, however, it was when Mr. Crisper (mass market size tpb) was released on the 4th of April 2004 through Hellbound Books, and later in the year The Ravenous (trade paperback) was released through Black Death Books. Ghosts of Eden (hardcover) was released on the 25th of May 2005, by Five Star, a Thomson Gale imprint. Gray’s novel Ghosts of Maine was published by Schiffer Books in February 2008.
Gray’s books and stories take place in Maine, and according to a 2005 Library Journal review: “Gray (Mr. Crisper and The Ravenous) continues her tradition of creating compelling horror tales with a strong foothold in setting and regional folklore.” In a 2005 interview by Kopfhalter! magazine, Gray explains why so many of her works happen in coastal Maine: “I like to think it’s more cerebral than merely writing what I know, but when it comes right down to the wire, New England is a fairly scary place. Without question, coastal Downeast Maine is beautiful, breathtaking even, but bottom line is this: it’s an isolated, harsh and natural beauty, and nature itself is neutral, neither bad nor good. It just is. Only when something terrible happens…it seems mighty evil. That’s what’s really frightening: the misinterpretation of events and the inability to foresee what lies ahead…”
Through the years, T.M. Gray has collaborated with writers. She collaborated with other writers in 2003. along with her fellow Maine writer Mark Edward Hall wrote “The Ruby Necklace” A short story that was published in 2003 by Lost Village Publishing Enterprises. in 2004, Gray along with British Horror writer Mark West penned the novel White Meat. A novel in the works of Gray, West and New York City horror writer Darren Franz.

At the age of four Gray’s family relocated to Bar Harbor, Maine to close by Winter Harbor, Maine. T. M. Gray went to school in Gouldsboro, Maine and Sullivan, Maine and took secretarial classes in Bangor, Maine. When she was 17 she began writing her first novel, and then became acquainted with Stephen King in October 1980. In December of the same year she began to fall into love with Robert Gray, a lobster fisherman from Wonsqueak Harbor, Maine. They were married on the 10th of August in 1984. They have two children: a the son Thomas Gardner (born in 1985) and a daughter Robyn Elizabeth (born in the year 1991).).
