Stu Foord (born on September 23rd 1985, in Regina, Saskatchewan) is a former Canadian football running back. Foord was hired to the Saskatchewan Roughriders as an undrafted free agent in the year 2008. Prior to becoming a member of the Roughriders, Foord played five years with his team, the Regina Thunder of the Prairie Football Conference.

Foord reside in Regina all year. In winter, Foord is in training together with the his former teammate Dan Farthing. Foord had planned to pursue his education and football career through either University of Regina or the University of Manitoba if he failed to get into professional football after his junior football eligibility had been exhausted. In the offseason, prior to the start of the 2010 CFL season Foord went on vacation in Mexico and learned how to surf.

In the 2009 CFL year, Foord dressed for every Roughrider game, which included in the West Final and the Grey Cup. Foord was among the team’s backup running backs as well as a member of special teams, such as returning kickoffs. Foord only scored one running touchdown in the season of 2009. In the offseason Foord signed a renewed contract contract with the Roughriders.

Foord played in high school football at Thom Collegiate in Regina. Following the completion of his high school career Foord played in junior football with The Regina Thunder of the Prairie Football Conference. Foord received an invitation to attend the Saskatchewan Roughriders training camp after the 2006 season, however, he was cut because of an array of on-field performances and off-field problems. Foord was back to play for the Thunder in the 2007 season in which he was placed in the top five of the PFC’s rankings in all-purpose yards and kick return yards. He also had punt return yards running, receiving, and punt return. Foord received the title of the most valuable player of Thunder following his two seasons at the team.

After the 2007 seasonended, Foord was again invited to join the Roughriders in their training camp. Following a far better performance both in and off on the pitch, Foord was put on the team’s waiver / injured list, however, he was admitted to the team’s 42-man roster following an injury suffered by Chris Szarka. Foord made his debut for the Roughriders in week 2 in the 2008 CFL season, playing against their rivals the BC Lions. Foord has been named CFL’s Canadian Player of the Week on the 24th of September in 2008, due to his play in the game against BC Lions. He scored a touchdown during his first attempt at rushing in the CFL and also scored an receiving touchdown later during the game. In reference to his rushing touchdown Foord stated “I knew that I would be so jacked up that if anything was there, I was going to take it. I did that and now I can say my first touch was a touchdown.” Foord completed his 2009 season scoring three times (two by rushing and one from receiving).

On February 16, 2012, Foord signed with the BC Lions as a free agent.
