Jody Handley (born 12 March 1979) is a English former professional footballer from Stafford She was most recently a player for FA WSL 2 club Doncaster Rovers Belles. A quick and smart attacker, she was featured as a wide midfielder as well as a striker for England as well as other clubs like Wolves Women, Liverpool Ladies and Everton Ladies. She was a part of the four FA Women’s Cup finals with three clubs, but lost the first three, but captaining Everton Ladies to their win in 2010.
She was a part of Doncaster Belles for season 2001-02 and scored two goals during her debut. She was later able to play at her 2nd FA Women’s Cup final, this time, against Fulham. Although she was in the scoring column Handley was forced to settle with a runners-up trophy because professional outfit Fulham won 2-1.
On the international stage Handley won 38 England caps and scored six goals following her debut in July 2002. She took part in the 2007 FIFA Women’s World Cup, and was a non-playing squad member at the 2005 and 2009 editions of the UEFA Women’s Championship.
Handley returned to Everton Ladies in the 2004–05 season and went on to score in the FA Cup semi-final win against Arsenal, however she was to be disappointed once again after a 1–0 loss to Charlton Athletic in the 2005 final. In the 2007–08 season Handley was named Everton captain through the absence of Leanne Duffy. Handley then led Everton to their first silverware in over a decade with a 1–0 win against Arsenal in the Premier League Cup final, where she was named Player of the Match.
After her time to USA, Handley was a student in the USA, Handley returned to Liverpool in the month of March 1998. But the Reds were ejected from their 1997-98 FA Women’s Cup when Handley was part of a team that beat Millwall with no international clearance. She left in 2000. quit Liverpool to join the local team Everton and was successfully transformed from a midfielder into a striker.

Handley started her football career with Shrewsbury Ladies before moving on to Wolves Women in the middle of 1993-94’s season. In nine games Handley scored 5 goals in helping Wolves win their first Northern Premier title. In her debut campaign as a player in the National Premier Division she made 16 appearances and scored two goals, including the opening goal in Wolves their debut National Division win against Milwall Lionesses. The remainder of Wolves’ campaign didn’t be as successful and they were relegated after another season.
In 1997, Handley played in varsity soccer at The University of Detroit Mercy. She scored ten assists, and was named the league’s Youngcomer of Year.

She played in the finals, coming on for the last ten minutes of England’s third game against Argentina, a 6–1 win which guaranteed a place in the quarter-finals.
