When Autograph was given the opening slot for Van Halen during their 1984 tour Eddie Van Halen said that Lynch was not permitted to shred with two hands during the show due to it being “Eddie’s thing.” Steve Lynch said in an interview that he had perfected his “hammering” technique long before the time he heard about Eddie Van Halen and was also adamant that traveling in the company of Van Halen was among his least memorable moments.
