He is also a singer, keyboardist and manager of a band. He is famous for his participation in bands such as Direlifesake Boys Night Out, The Receiving End of Sirens, Isles & Glaciers, and The Company We Keep. He also serves as the tour manager of Motion City Soundtrack. He is the current director of tours of All Time Low.
Southall quit Boys Night Out in order to join the experimental rock group The Receiving End of Sirens in 2007. The band recorded their second album, and their final one, The Earth Sings Mi Fa Mi prior to the band broke into 2009. But on the 22nd of December the 22nd of December 2009, he announced that they were playing Skate Fest 2010 as a reunion and show to end the year.
In 2012, a new band featuring Justin Pierre of Motion City Soundtrack, Brian Southall, Amy Brennan and Brendan Morgan was announced. The band is called The Company We Keep and they announced their debut self-titled EP on April 24, 2012.
In 2013, All Time Low’s long time tour manager Matt Flyzik stepped down. The band went on through 2014 on a few short tours and then finished the year recording their sixth studio album, Future Hearts. In 2015, following the announcement of tours and other events in support of the album, Southall became their tour manager. Southall ended his work with All Time Low in London during The Young Renegades UK Tour 2018.
Southall was then announced on the 12th of December, 2008 issue of Alternative Press, to be the official keyboard and guitarist player for the supergroup of experimental post-hardcore Isles & Glaciers. The group has released their debut album, The Hearts of Lonely People and also played the group’s first and only performance at SXSW. The group hasn’t done anything since the show.

Southall joined the post-hardcore group fordirelifesake at the beginning of 1999. He recorded both full-length albums by the band; Breathing in Is Only Half the Function and Dance.Pretend.Forget.Defend. The band disbanded in 2004 to form a new group.
After leaving for Direlifesake Southall joined post-hardcore outfit Boys Night Out. They released their sophomore album Trainwreck as well as their only EP that was digital Fifty Million People Can’t Be Right, but he left the band in the middle of 2006.
In late 2010, Jonny Craig announced that Isles & Glaciers has broken up, stating that the band was “only a one time thing”.
