Stacy Long is one of the most popular and richest English footballer who was born on January 11, 1985 in England, United Kingdom. Stacy William Long (born 11 January, 1985) was an English former professional footballer who was a midfielder.
Prior to the 2005-06 campaign, Long joined Notts County with a one-year contract after a successful trial at the club. The player made debut for the club in the one-goal win against Wrexham and scored the winning goal at the end of 90 minutes. Following Notts County’s 2-0 win at home over Stockport County on 17 December 2005, he was unable to make it into the first-team for three months. He made an appearance in the 78th minute in the 1-0 loss at home against Grimsby Town. The only time he made substitute appearances during the remaining month of the campaign. Long played 23 times in the team of Notts County during the 2005-06 season, as they narrowly avoided being relegated to the Football League, scoring two goals. After the season Long was among seven players let go by the club.
Long represented England at various youth levels, as well as playing for the England C team in 2008.
After being released by the newly renamed Ebbsfleet United at the end of the 2008–09 season, Long joined fellow Conference Premier club Stevenage on a one- year contract on 5 June 2009. He made his debut for the Hertfordshire side in the opening game of the 2009–10 season, starting in a 1–1 draw with Tamworth on 8 August 2009. Long found first-team opportunities hard to come by in the first half of the season, featuring just eight times in four months. However, after impressing in Stevenage’s 4–1 win against Cambridge United on New Year’s Day by providing two assists, Long scored his first goal for Stevenage in a 6–0 win over Vauxhall Motors on 19 January 2010, scoring the sixth goal in the match. Three days later, Long scored twice against Kettering Town in a 2–0 win. Long played 26 times during the club’s successful 2009–10 campaign, scoring five goals, as Stevenage finished the season as Conference Premier champions.
Long played for the England U16 team in 2000. It also comprised Wayne Rooney, and represented his country at numerous youth levels. Long was selected as a member of the England C team, which represent England at the non-League levels, in February 2007, to play an friendly match with the Northern Ireland C team.

Long began his football journey with Charlton Athletic in 1995 and went through the academy in The Valley. Long signed a three-year pro contract with the club in 2002, after his performance impressed his manager Alan Curbishley. After signing the agreement, Long declared that “signing a professional contract is what I have always wanted ever since I first came to the club and was playing for the Under-8 and Under-9 sides”. While he was a regular player in reserve squads, Long was released in May 2005, bringing to an end his 10 year relationship at the London club. After his release, Long said, “the club is in such a strong position now that it is difficult for young players to make the breakthrough”.
Long began his football career with Charlton Athletic in 1995 and went through the academy and spent ten years in the club’s book as an active player in the reserve team however, he never made an appearance in the first team. At the beginning of the 2005-06 season Long became a member of Notts County after being released from Charlton. He played for one season at the club before joining non-league Ebbsfleet United on July. He played in over 135 total games for the club, guiding the club to FA Trophy success in the process.
Long subsequently joined Conference National club Gravesend & Northfleet on 26 July 2006. He made his Gravesend debut as a substitute in a 1–0 victory over Woking on 21 October 2006. Long scored his first goal in the same season away at Kidderminster Harriers in a 2–1 victory on 3 March 2007. He made 31 appearances during the 2006–07 season. Long continued featuring regularly under Liam Daish in the club’s 2007–08 campaign. He played 47 games in all competitions and scored 14 goals from midfield, including successive braces against Grays Athletic and Weymouth. Long was also a regular player in the club’s successful FA Trophy campaign the same season, playing in all seven games, including the 1–0 win against Torquay United in the final at Wembley Stadium on 10 May 2008. The 2008–09 season saw Long play 49 games for the Kent club, scoring four times.

Following his release from AFC Wimbledon, Long took a “significant wage drop” and “rejected better offers from League clubs” to re-join Ebbsfleet United of the Conference South on 8 June 2013. On the move, Long said “I had a great experience here last time – obviously winning the Trophy at Wembley was the highlight for me – but overall it was a fantastic time and I hope to do the same under Steve Brown and achieve great things again”. He made his second debut for Ebbsfleet in the club’s opening match of the 2013–14 campaign, playing the first 88 minutes in a 0–0 draw with Havant & Waterlooville on 17 August 2013. Long made 12 appearances for Ebbsfleet during the first half of the campaign, of which five were from the substitute’s bench, scoring two goals.
