Simon Baldry is one of the most popular and richest English footballer who was born on February 12, 1976 in Huddersfield, United Kingdom. Simon Jonathon Baldry (born 12 February 1976) is an English professional footballer who retired and was a player within the Football League for Huddersfield Town, Bury and Notts County.
In the year the player was signed to his professional debut for Huddersfield, Baldry became the most youthful player in the history of the club to be a part of an event in the cup final in the stadium of Wembley Stadium. Baldry also received two appearances in the soccer magazines FourFourTwo and Match in which they have described Baldry in the form of “a confident, young Keith Gillespie with a keen eye for goal”. Baldry was also described as “a teenage wizkid” and called “Huddersfield Town’s most naturally talented apprentice”. Then, in May of 1995 Baldry received the Young Player Award from Shoot magazine.
On 18 April 1998 in the 1997–98 season, Baldry scored the goal that saved Huddersfield Town from relegation of the old First Division. Huddersfield played West Bromwich Albion in a game which resulted in a 1–0 victory for the home side.
Throughout his time at Huddersfield and his career in general, Baldry has often been hampered by injuries. This has sometimes resulted in him missing some of the biggest games of his career, most notably against Liverpool in the FA Cup quarter finals in December 1999.
Simon Baldry was a youth player who was part of the Huddersfield Town Centre of Excellence system. He was also a popular player for Amateur clubs Stile Common and Deighton, before signing an official agreement for Huddersfield Town in 1994 at 17 years old. He would stay for 9 years with the club until he left in the month of May, 2003.

Bury were later managed by the former Huddersfield manager Neil Warnock, the man who had signed Baldry on his initial professional deal in the year 1994. Despite failing to succeed in signing Baldry in 1998, Warnock always held a keen desire for Baldry and would attempt to bring the athlete on board following becoming director of Sheffield United a year later. He also tried again in the latter part of 2000, providing the player a guaranteed first-team football and his number eleven shirt prior to Baldry later signed a new contract for the contract he had with Huddersfield.
On the 30th April 1994 Baldry scored the opening goal for Huddersfield in their 2-1 victory against Blackpool. This goal is highly remembered because it occurred during the final game of the season at their previous Leeds Road ground before moving to the Alfred McAlpine Stadium.
Baldry spent a month on loan at Bury in the early stages of the 1998–99 season. While at the club the player made 5 first team appearances and 5 reserve team appearances, scoring one goal for the reserves and claiming various goal assists in both teams.
